Our team: Based at our in-house development and production facilities and certified in accordance with EN 9100 and EN ISO 9001 standards, we are a group of highly motivated creative thinkers who work on all kinds of fascinating projects from demanding sectors such as aerospace, Formula One and marine technology.

Our roots: CI started up back in 1992 and initially concentrated on engineering work and the development of process-related quality management systems. Our innovative approach to engineering saw us enter into a joint venture with Barthels-Feldhoff GmbH & Co. KG in 1994.

Our aim: To develop, produce and sell fibre-reinforced plastic products.

Design prizes and awards: Our first-ever independent project, the "Piranha" road bike made to our own design from a carbon monocoque frame, won us our first-ever international design prize - the red dot award for outstanding design standards presented in Essen in 1996. The bike, which has proved its mettle in demanding international duathlon and triathlon competitions, then took the Designpreis des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Prize) in 1997.

2002 saw CI Composite Impulse named as an exceptionally innovative company as part of the Regionale 2006 project, which was followed in 2003 by the company winning the Bergischer Innovationspreis (County of Berg Innovation Prize). We were delighted to be presented with the ASMAC Gold Award from Toyota Motorsport in 2008 as their most reliable and punctual supplier. We were also honoured to win the Toyota SIS Championship.

Industry successes: We began producing lightweight components for the aviation industry in 1995 and delivered our first ones for rallying in 1997. 2000 saw us enter the world of Formula One and marked the start of our quest to continuously strengthen our leading position in the field of thermal protection systems. We've also been producing special equipment such as showers, domes and cabin ceilings for VIP aircraft since 2009 and, in 2010, the delivery of our 15th ROTV also gave us cause for celebration. The radomes we've developed for submarines boast unique physical characteristics and underline the stunning progress we've made in the field of marine technology. 

Growth: Engineering graduate Arnd Eberhart took a 100% stake in CI Composite Impulse in 2004 and has been the sole shareholder and Managing Director ever since. In 2006, we moved into our newly built company headquarters with its excellent transport links in the Gevelsberg district of Silschede. The site features cutting-edge development and production facilities perfectly tailored to the way we work - not only are they adaptable and clearly structured, they also allow development and production staff to work in perfect harmony.

Our quality assurance laboratory: With exceptional equipment for the analysis of thermal protection systems for motorsport and other industries, DSC thermal analysis and the development of our own formulas, our quality assurance laboratory enables us to conduct top-class independent research and quality control.

The icing on our cake: In 2010, we finally managed to obtain a state-of-the-art five-axis milling machine, enabling us to put our clients' ideas into practice even more quickly and offer construction, master pattern construction and manufacturing under one roof.
